Time to catch up

Good Morning Folks

I have had a looooog week.

I spent 45 hours Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at work reviewing Seniors collections, model match-ups, and final critique classes...yikes!

I need today to collect myself:-)

Here are a few highlights of my week....

Sophomores final assignment to design, draft, and create a pair of jeans...

 

 

 

Juniors...design jacket/coat with a notch lapel, draft, and create...

 

 

 

 

 
I am very proud of my students!!!!

New Class

Good Afternoon Folks

I have a new class coming up Saturday May 22nd from 1-3.

We will be using stamps from Outlines.

Here is a sample of something similar.....I will be changing the image

 
 The class project will include butterflies and flowers!!

I have two very busy weeks coming up with school....student reviews, fashion shows, and finals...whew!!!

Birthday Celebration

Good Morning Folks

I have a quick post, then off to celebrate my and my daughter's birthdays, in Boston with family.

My daughter wanted an I Touch and this is how I wrapped it.

It fit perfectly!!!!

These are my favorite colors!!!

I made this gift box while I was at Stamping Around.

Lauren Meader has a great site that sells these templates.

For $5.00 you purchase the template and then you own it for life.

You can print it anytime as many times as you want from your computer.

I have done these before and love this new design of hers.

Pretty Bird

Good Afternoon Folks

What a glorious day!!!

I am in love with the new Tim Holtz Dies, in particular....

this one

This is an A2 size card.  I started with a white card base and embossed it with one of my new Sizzix Folders.

These folders emboss so well that I had no trouble just inking the raised parts with Shabby Shutter Ranger Ink.

The Bird/Cage Die from Tim is also super fun!

I cut all the images out in chipboard...yes chipboard!

The Big Shot and Tim's Dies cut chipboard yahoooo!!

I covered them in paper and adhered them onto the card.

The bird got covered in text paper and inked with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Ranger Ink. I love how the wing layers on top.

I added pearls at the bottom and a gold wire to the top.

The sentiment is a stamp from Outlines.

This was made from a plain Manila file folder!!!!

I have been dying to try one of these, I was tickled pink that I finally made one:-)

Good Afternoon Folks

I have another card to share from our Stamping Around Weekend.

 

This is the card closed

and this is the card open.  I have been dying to try one of these, they are sooo easy.

Choose the size card you want to use, any size will do.  I chose to do a 5x7 card for a demo.  All you have to do is fold the top half of the card in half.

  Here you can see my 5x7 card.  The top half I scored in half at 3 1/2.

This part gets folded over

Now all you have to do is design around that top half being folded and unfolded.  Be sure to use a popped up element at the base to hold the flap.

In the card shown we used a popped up sentiment to hold the card while it is folded.

Super Cool!!

Thanks to Monika this is her design.  She used Just Rite Stamps to embellish this card.  They were colored in with Copics and the flowers were popped up for more dimension. The shapes were cut out with Nestabilities.

I had a great time yesterday at Wholly Scrap! because

Stamping Around was hosting a wonderful event!!!

Stamping Around

Good Afternoon Folks

Tonight Wholly Scrap! begins hosting a big Stamping Around Event.

What a fun weekend they have planned.

My class is tonight and here is what I am teaching...

A 4x4 gift card set.  I am only showing 1 card, but three will be included, with envies.

 
Can not wait...hope to see you there!!

Great weather to stay in and stamp LOL

Gotta get back to kitting up my class.....

Good Evening Folks

I have a book to share with you...

 

I made this little Minny book with my Bind-it-All.

I love the Daisy Stamps from Outlines that I used for my embellishments.

Here are the other pages

 

I used Bo Bunny Dot Paper, and Jillibean Designer Paper.  I made small pockets and tags that slide out.

I included an acrylic piece that I used Staz-On Lime Green to stamp the same Outlines Flower Image. 

 

 

 

The inks I used were Distress Inks Broken China and Shabby Shutters.

The base of each page was chipboard that I covered.

I hope this book sparks your creativity to make something special for yourself!!
