Good Morning Folks

I am trying to bounce back from this nasty whatever I have.

My fever has not been below 102 in four days, unless I take something.

I coughed so much that I my back is now defunct, boo hoo!

However,

 here is a card I made last week that I can share

I made this for my card class

last week.

It is a mini sized gift card 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 that come in packs of 8.

Just the right size for a small gift.

The stamp comes from Stampendous.  It is a clear set with other 

adorable images and sentiments.

I stamped the trees in green and added Vintage Christmas Flower Soft.

I thought it need more sparkle so I added Crystal Stickles.

I love adding stickles to flower soft, the glue from the stickles helps adhere the flower soft.

I love the sentiment!!!

You can see the ribbon goes all around and

just gets knotted in the front.

 We just got in some great new Christmas ribbon from May Arts, this green check is one of them.

Pretty quick and simple!!!!

You could make a hundred of these in no time.

Candy Gift

Hello again!!

I have had this gift idea in my mind for a few days and

could not wait to put it together.

For some reason this year I am fascinated with how to use my left over

paper towel rolls LOL

Martha Stewart kind of inspired this idea.  I saw in her magazine that she used the rolls as candy holders.......well here is my version...

The roll is a perfect size to hold candy kisses (or anything that size).

I used my Outlines Poinsettia Stamps.

 

the two sizes and the copics that I used to color them in..

 

I embossed the stamped images with Ranger Queen's Gold Powder.

and then colored them in with my Copics.  I usually do

not like embossing and using copics, but this combo worked out nicely.

I stamped on Prism Smooth White Card Stock once with the large

flower then twice with the smaller one.

I colored them and cut them out layering with foam tape in

between.

I hot glued a large clear gem with pearls in the center and filled in

 between with Platinum Stickles.

I covered the roll with White Sparkle Paper and then added my flower.

I also added some white glitter to the tips of the flower.

I added some trim from my stash to the ends of the roll to finish

it off nicely.

 

I wrapped the candy in a clear bag and tied the ends off.

On one end I added the sentiment "merry christmas"

 from Tapestry Peg Stamps.

I stamped that also on the white card stock and colored the entire circle in with the same copics. 

The bag slides out easily and the decorated roll can be reused.

As bad as I was feeling today, this really excited me LOL

Tea for Two Follow Up

Good Morning Folks.

I know I said I would be back last night, but I came down with something.

I thought the scratchy throat was due to all the bleach,

however, I was wrong...fever 102, yucko!!!

Anyway here are the parts to make your tea holder...

I am asking for a video cam for x-mas to hopefully make some

videos for all us visual learner out there.

This is the outside wrap piece, it measures 11x3

I scored it (black lines indicate score marks)

2 1/2...3 1/4....7...7 3/4 

 

The inside pockets

 
  

Cut a piece 4 1/8 x 6 1/8.

 

score 5/8 on two sides

 

trim off corner

 

score another line 2 3/4 in from the 5/8 score line

 

trim off the piece shown, I trimmed on a slant so

that the fold fits nicely

 

use a circle punch (plain or scallop) and punch out 1/2 circle so

that your recipient can reach their tea package easier 

 

fold everything up and add adhesive to the 5/8 sections

 

all done, your pocket is made.  I made 4 of these in total.

You can see the two black dots on the bottom.  Use a Cropodile

or regular Punch and punch those holes out on each of your pockets.

 

I threaded twine through all the holes, including one made on the

 long base and tied a loose knot.

 

Do not forget to decorate your pockets before you lace them all up

I used Bo Bunny Christmas Paper, Beautiful new Lace, and a

 Unity Stamp "enjoy" combined with a Stampendous "Holly Leaf" Stamp.

A scallop punch and Red and Lime Green Stickles finish this off.

 

The front was decorated with Sparkle Paper, more Bo Bunny Paper

and another stamp from Unity "Tea Pot" (I got this set of stamps

from Unity at the Conn. Stamping Retreat I went on with "Stamping Around")

I used my Copics to color this image in. My Favorite Reds located on my sidebar. The Merry Christmas is a Tapestry Peg Stamp.  I stamped it on

an angle thinking it would look cute....that did not work..oh well

 

I added a brad and some twine to lock the flap down 

I hope you enjoyed this.....You can buy a kit already cut for you from

Pine Cone Press, but the card stock is cheap and the color is ugly.

The kit also does not show you how to use the twine to hook it all

together, they have you glue each piece together, not allowing the

pockets to flip.

Tea for Two

Happy Thanksgiving Folks!!!

I am still cleaning....but I stopped last night to make this

 

This is a Gift Tea Holder.

Most of my family drinks tea and I thought this was a cute way

to give a little "sumpin sumpin".

Here it is opened up.. 

 

Unfortunately this is not an original idea...I elaborated on an old one.

The pockets flip over so that you can access all the different teas.

 
  

I have exact measurements on all the parts to put this together.

It was Super Easy!!! Really.

I have to get back to cleaning, but I will post again tonight with

all the details to make this cutie!!

Let Me Tell You a Story

Good Evening Folks

Thought I was missing?

Well.....You all know that I work all day Monday and Tuesday.

About 30 hours total, however, this week was special...

My daughter is a professional chef and is working Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.

So my family decided to celebrate today, Wednesday.

Sounds nice, right.

Well, this past Tuesday morning after my shower

 I heard water running down in my basement.

Sure enough, just a few drops, nothing major.

I called the plumber and he said he could be out on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Not a big deal sounds ok...

So, I did a load of wash, put the dishwasher on and left for work.

When my hubby got home our basement was flooded.  Everything was floating.

He shop vac'd up 6 bucket loads.

The leak??? We could not figure out where it was coming from.

Most of the water was around the washing machine

(and because it is old) we figured it was the culprit.

We decided not to run the machine and continue on with life. 

 The plumber was coming on Friday and would help us out.

We now wake up today, Wednesday, I start cleaning the turkey

(this was my contribution to dinner at my parents in Boston).

My hubby goes to the basement and sees dirty water bubbling up and

pouring over the top of the utility sink, next to the washing machine.

What the heck is going on!!!

I am in the bathroom at the time, flush the toilet, and run to help out

downstairs........well that is when the SEWERAGE starts flowing into

the basement from the utility tub.....ahhh haaaa our main sewerage

exit to the house is plugged.

Yikes!!! Help!!! We need Roto Rooter.  The only time they can visit is

2p.m.....dinner time in Boston....I live in NH....what do I do I have the bird

So for the first time in 25 years my hubby and I were not together for a holiday :-(

I went to Boston with the bird and he stayed behind and met Roto Rooter.

I ate quickly and rushed home with lots of bleach

to help with the clean-up. The huge plug was cleared but,

What a MESS!!! I have been bleaching and cleaning my

 basement for 5 hours!!

Lesson learned......small leaks can be a foreshadowing pay attention!!

Sorry for the looong vent.....I promise to be back tomorrow with some

cute ideas!!!

Holiday Sparkle

Good Afternoon Folks

I worked on another challenge today

This card measures 5x7 and I started with a white card base.

I added blue card stock and then continued with Black Card

Stock, Pink Sparkle Paper, and White Card Stock.

I used Nestabilities Rectangles and Scallop Rectangles to create

the long piece on the side.

The Black/Pink center square was created with Coordination's Paper

and a Quickutz Embossing Folder.

The Coordinations Paper I chose has a black outside layer and then

a pink core. I sanded over the embossed part exposing the pink inside.

Pretty Cool!!

There are hundreds of color combos!!!!

 
  The snowflakes were made with Nestabilities Flake 2 and a

 Martha Stewart Flake Punch.

The Black center pieces are actually flowers fromPetaloo.  These are new

I love Them!!! Of course because them are sooo blingy LOL

The stamp is from Impression Obsession. It fit perfectly with the card,

don't you think?

 

I love the BIG white bow.  I am seriously into big bows lately!!

You can see from this angle I used chipboard under some of my layers.

I also used foam tape under the flakes.

Waterfall Stickles finish this card off.

Chocolate Gift

Good Day All!

I have a quick gift idea for you.

I used the New Coordinations Paper that just came in.

I embossed it with my Quickuz Small embosser sanded it and BAM done!

Good Afternoon Folks

I have not done a challenge in a while so I decided on one of my

old favorites MoJo Monday.

Here is the card

This one was a lot of fun.  I chose to use Graphic 45 Papers as my background.

There are soooo many beautiful papers to choose from...how could you go wrong!!!

 
I used my Just Rite Stamps for the main image.

I stamped the image twice on Cream Smooth Prism Paper

using Memento Brown Ink.

I then colored one of the images in with my Copics, punched it out, and

layered it on top of the other stamped image to give it a raised effect.

I sat this medallion on top of two other Marvy Scallop Punches: green and blue.

I added small ribbon tabs on the side with pearl accents.  The accents

 were colored in with my copic marker E33 to get the white down

 to a cream.

 

This card measures 5x7.  I started with a cream card base

and added card stock (green, blue, and red) matching the designer paper.

The red top block was embossed with my Swiss Dot Cuttlebug.

I added chipboard and foam tape under the top layer so that the card

laid flat (the velvet ribbon was causing it to tip to one side).

I added Stickles (Lime green and Burgundy) of course.

The blue velvet ribbon is from my stash, but the rest of the

The company was even better, what a nice melange of people!!

My friend Lorrie (past owner of Wholly Scrap) got me involved in this swap and as I cursed her while I was making all my boxes....I am sooo glad

I was involved what a time I had!!!!
