Purity Springs here we come!!

Good Morning!!

We are all busy getting ready for the Purity Springs Retreat.

I have not even had time to digest all that happened last

weekend at the Sue Gilman Show!!

Anyway here are two 12x12 layouts that I will be teaching at

Purity..

 

The paper and run-ons are from Stemma.

I used black card stock to matt the paper.  I also used black and white card stock for the photo area.

I used my Quickutz Square Die to cut the solid black frames.

I added acetate to the back of these frames.  On the acetate I added the rub-ons.

Before I adhered them down I added white card stock to the background so

that the words would pop.

 

The small little squares are cut with my Marvy Square Scallop Punches, two sizes.

The decorative part on the top of these punches are rub-ons from Stemma.

The butterfly is a Quickutz die.  I used black card stock for the top and more Stemma Paper for the bottom (underneath) cut.

I used foam tape for the black frames and in between the scallop squares.

Of course Stickles and a few mini flowers (from my stash) finish this off!!

I used Quickcutz Flowers, Marvy Punch Flowers, card stock in Red, Green, Yellow and two shades of Blue and Imaginisce Paper, Brads and Stamps.

Both of these classes will be taught this weekend at Purity Springs.

I am back!!

WOW what a weekend!!!

I am exhausted.

I took so many classes and then Denise and I ordered so much new stuff

everything is a blur.......

I came home with so many new samples to show you, however I am holding off

until they come into the store.

I have new classes already planned and ready to go.....WOW!!

Here is a card I made before I left..

 

I used the new Quickutz Tree.  I love this die because it has built into it all

the different parts to make it 3D.

Three greens for the tree, 2 pinks for the bird, and I brown for the trunk.

You can add foam tape between these layers for a great dramatic look.

The base papers are Basic Grey Porcelain.

I also used a dark brown for the bottom card matt.

This is my favorite size 5x7.

This pink card stock strip was stamped with a sentiment.  "Smile with your soul"

We had this stamp, however it has sold out.

I would like to say that we could order it again, but it is unlikely at this moment.

I hope you understand that to place an order with a company you have

to order a certain $ amount, usually a $100-$250 minimum.

This is hard to do with a small company like Daisey Bucket (were the stamp came from).

However we have so many stamps with MANY MANY new ones on the way

I am sure you can find something to take its place!!

I finished the card with Doodlebug Gems and ribbon.

 

No rest for the weary we have to get ready for Purity Springs.

This is a weekend retreat for Scrap Booking, in Maison NH.

It is this weekend.  I will be helping Denise out and teaching two classes as well as

"scrappin".

Wholly Scrap is the vendor at this event.  We have to pack up 1/2 the

store to transport up to Madison.

WHAT A JOB!!!

I think I have a full time job somewhere???? LOL

I want to THANK Lorrie and Gillian, two special people who are always

What a nice day!

Did anyone know that Monday was National Puppy Day?

Well I made a card to celebrate ...

 

This is another stamp from My Favorite Things.

This stamp also includes a cat image (same size as the dog)

for all those cat lovers.

Isn't he cuteeee!!

I used Mint Dot Bo Bunny Paper as the base and the New Bo Bunny

Lined paper for the large strip.

The lace strip on the bottom is from Creative Imaginations.

The brads match the New Bo Bunny Line of Paper.

I matted the stamp with cream, blue, lime green, and black card stock.

I stamped the dog image with Ranger Adirondack Pitch Black Ink.

I stamped him twice, cut the wavy part out, so that I could layer him (you can see I inked around the wavy edges).

   

I then colored him in using my Copic Sketch Markers blues and greens.

I water colored the dog with my watercolor pencils.

I cut out bones and a small tag from Quickutz.

On the tag I used the sentiments that come with the stamp.

"No bones about it"

I did use lots of foam tape...

I will be attending the Sue Gilman Show in Framingham, MA.

This show is a retailers show that provides lots of inspiration for us

paper crafting teachers.

We get to sample and use new products and take lots of classes!!

Everything I learn I take back with me and pass it along to YOU.

I REALLY look forward to this show every year, I am sooo excited!!

I would like to share my new card with you before I head off to work

 

This is a Mother's Day Card for my Mom.

Good thing she does not use a computer (imagine that?)

Anyway, as most of you know we are all Italian, and this paper comes from Italy.

That alone would put a smile on her face!!

Unfortunately, It did not come from Wholly Scrap.

I bought it a while ago intending to make a card for my mom, and I finally did.

I started with a base cream 5x7 card and matted it with a deep purple.

I used my Gold Leaf Krylon Pen to run a paint strip all

 along the edge.

 I then used my Italian Paper.

Any pretty floral paper will do.

Next was to get my stamped image ready.

I used the My Favorite Things Stamp, Mother's Day.

I stamped it in Gold Ink and colored it with my New Copic Sketch Markers.

Here are the colors I used.

   

I also used water color pencils with my water brush for the background

and the flower pot.

Here is a close-up of my coloring.

I cut the square image out and matted it on the same deep purple card stock.

I also added the Gold Krylon around the edge.

I set that aside and worked on my "pin".

I found a large gold safety pin at Bead Creative.  I added some beads

to the pin and set that aside.

I used two Prima Flowers and sprayed them with Gold Angel Mist.

I then pinned them (flowers) together with the beaded pin.

I added a strip of Graphic 45 small dot paper to my card.

Before I adhered it down I added a sheer ribbon to it.

After I attached it to the card I glued down with strong glue dots my pin/flowers.

I then tucked my square stamped image in the pin and used foam tape

to secure the top edge.

I only used Purple Stickles and Kaiser Kraft Pearl Dots as bling.

Good Morning!

I have a new Page to share with you.........

 

This page users a number of NEW products in the store!

The first is the Paper, from Glitz Designs.

I backed it with Bazzil Bling Black.

I then opened the package of Bo Bunny Clear Acrylic Pieces.  Wow!

You get lots of pieces to play with!!  Circles, arrows, photo frame..etc.

I used the photo frame in the center.  I wanted to set it off, so I backed it with black/white dot paper from American Craft.

I used my EK Circle Cutter and cut an additional circle for the center (photo goes).

With that done it was time for the embellishments!! Yeah..

I took apart all the circles that came in the Bo Bunny Kit.

I stamped some of them and also layered them with Circle Glitz Stickers.

This package of circles came with the paper and worked out great!

 

From the corner close up you can see that I added Dream Paper from Best Creations, American Craft Leather Circle, Bo Bunny Brads and a Karen Foster Sparkle Brad.

The center part of the Bo Bunny Acrylic Circles are the Glitz Sticker Circles.

 

This is the top corner.

You can really see the Acrylic Circles here.  I stamped them with Impression Obsession Stamps 

and added more American Craft Leather circles, Bo Bunny Brads, and Karen Foster Sparkle Brads.

Of course I added my bling  Doodlebug Clear and Black Gems and the best part...

 

The SWIRLS! These are from Prima.  They just finish this layout off perfectly.

I have a side view to show the many layers..

 

I used foam tape and Ranger Glossy Accents to adhere all this together.

The glossy accents work great for acrylic objects.

She has always dreamed of becoming a chef and now she is "Chef Liz"

at the "Spiced Pear" in Newport Rhode Island.  A swanky 5 star restaurant!!

What a Nice Day!!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

I want to share my new card with you...

   

This is one of the new stamps from My Favorite Things,

"hangin with my peeps"

How cute!!

The stamp set also includes other sayings not related to Easter, like

"your my favorite chick" and "a little birdie told me" etc..

I started with a 5x7 white card base and added another white base, but

this time I embossed it with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Embossing Folder.

From there I cut a Square Scallop using my Nestabilities

from Mint Dot Bo Bunny Paper.

I added a Pink Card Stock Square cut with my Nestabilities.

I then stamped my lady/birds using Ranger Adirondack Black Ink on white card stock.

I then started to color the image in by using Copic Sketch Markers.

These are new to the store!!!

Many crafter and designers have been using them for a while and simply

love them.

We brought some in so let us know what you think??

As an artist/designer they are a nice addition to my collection.

These are the colors I used.......

 

Here is a close up of the image I colored.....

   

The slight difference in shades allows you create a more realistic look.

There is also a blender pen that helps "smuge" all the colors together.

I will be giving a class soon on how to use these pens.

Before that happens try them out and take some time to play

around with them.

(if requested and while supplies last).

The gray background and blue sky I used my watercolor pencils and

my water brush pen...

 

I matted the image with black card stock and used foam tape

to adhere it to the already made square/scallop on an angle.

The bottom strip was made with Bo Bunny paper, ribbon and cardstock.

The sentiment comes with the stamp set and the brads match the

 New Bo Bunny Line - I used Alissa.

Of course stickles were used, Icicles, Fruit Punch and Lime Green.

First Day of Spring?

A bit cold for the first day of spring. 

 I just got back from a nice dinner with my family!

As most of you know I am all Italian, when my family gets together it is always a competition to see who is the loudest and can talk the longest.

My brother usually wins for being the loudest

and I win for talking the most (big surprise there) LOL!

Anyway here is my newest 12 x 12........

 

I used the new papers from Daisy Bucket.  This paper is super cool due to the awesome texture. I started with the Lined Lime Green paper from Creative Imaginations.

I then added the Daisy Bucket Paper.  It is double sided, so I could fold down the corner and have a new pattern show.

 

I added Blue Card Stock to the exposed corner.  I cut out the big flower from one of the coordinating papers and added it on top.

The circles are pretty straight forward.  The big Blue and white Circles were cut from Card Stock using the EK Circle Cutter and the Smaller Scallop Circles were made using the Marvy Scallop Punches.

I added small flowers.......done

 

I will be posting all weekend showing what can be made with all the new stuff that has come in!!!!

Gotta love the weather!

My Scrap Room is really a Sun room so when the weather is beautiful I get lots of natural light!!

Then my stickles really sparkle :-)

Here is my new Easter Card.......

 

I love that bunny tail!!

I matted the card with deep red card stock and then added my patterned paper,

Three Bugs in a Rug "Happy Bird-day".

The strip across the bottom is white and then pink card stock.

I stamped my Bunny Stamp by Outlines in deep red ink on

white card stock.

I colored him in using my watercolor pencils and glitter pens.

To color him in I used my glue pen and white glitter.

His tail I used stickles (icicles).  The icicles have a dimension to them

giving his tail a bit of a "puff".

I cut this image out using my Oval Nestabilities.

I am still waiting like the rest of you for the Nestabilities to come in

because I need the Scallop Oval Nestabilities.  (The company, Spellbinders says they will be here next week), sigh!

Because I wanted a matt around the oval I decided to use my small flower punch.  I punched out several deep red flowers and glued them all around the oval base.  You can see only half of the flower shows.

   

I really like the way it turned out.

To finish off the card I added a small "Happy Easter" from Tapestry Stamps, a few flowers, and

Stickles (Aqua, Burgundy, Icicles, Fruit Punch).

The white flower and "Happy Easter" base were cut using the new

QuicKutz Nesting Flowers.

Just a quick note, the New Easter Outline Stamps Have arrived!

I course I had to have them :-)

Here is an example......

 

What I like about this particular stamp (tree) is that it can

be very simple.

Some of Outline stamps can be too much work (decorating).

This one is a simple statement.

All I did was color the eggs white, with my White Pen from Alvin.

And a couple of flowers. I did add stickles (icicle) to a few eggs.

The base of the card is matted with blue, pink, and white card stock.

I stamped the "Tree" on green card stock.

I cut the "Tree" out with Square Nestabilities and matted it

with the Scallop Nestabilities in more blue card stock.

The green square looked too "clean", it needed to be softened

so I inked in pink around the edges.  I added a "Happy Easter" small

stamp from Tapestry Stamps,  cut and matted with nestabilities also.

The circle is from Memories Complete, the chip board pieces.

I punched it out and added paper from Dream Street behind it.

The big flower came with the Memories Complete kit.

I added a few more stickles and flowers, done.

The more I look at this "tree stamp" the more I realize that

it can be used year round, not just for Easter.

The eggs could be colored blue for a "Robin's Tree" or

brown for a "Family Tree"....

You will probably see this tree again (you can tell I like it).
