Good afternoon folks!
I am soooo snowed in here in New Hampshire...28 inches of snow YIKES!!
But I am headed into my craft room to play *big smile*.
Before I do I thought I would share the inside of my altered book I made for the
I had a lot of fun making this two page spread in my book. The text pages were already there but I used matte medium and glued 7 pages together on the right hand side to create a heavier page to work with. The left hand side is the inside flap of the cover. I used the same color Dylusion Sprays: vibrant teal and lemon zest that I used on my cover. I used an old sunburst stencil I had and added embossing paste and color then I stamped a Donna Downey Butterfly on white tissue paper and adhered it down with matte medium over some of the raised elements. The tissue pape was so thin that it sunk right in and blended nicely with the raised parts.
I also used my yellow gelato stick to get that real burst of color I wanted. I also added a Donna Downy empowered word saying on tissue paper again and added that with more matte medium. I love the tissue idea because you get to play around with the placement of your items with committing until you are ready...one of my fellow design teammates at eP was nice enough to share that tip, thanks Micki :-)
Now it was time for my embellies...a metal butterfly from G45 that I painted with white gesso and spayed, maya road buttons, and a small prima flower.
The two larger flowers were made with Clearly for Art clear plastic and Tim's flower Die. I heated the plastic to mold it and then colored the flower with alcohol inks. I will be doing a video soon on this flower technique...its so fun!!!
The right side got more ink. I had images of antique fabrics I got in Paris and decided to color copy them and punch out circles as inspiration. I added Tim Holtz plastic fragments on top for some dimension. Lace and metal trim inked finished the page off.
I decided that I wanted to make a pocket from my pages and adhered two pages together with a side pleat...creating the pocket.
This was a great area to hold my fashion inspiration photos..*insert big smile*!!!
Thanks for stopping by and make something fun today...I know most of New England will have plenty of free time today...hehehe..we are all snowed in!!!!!
