I have been having a lot of fun lately joining in on some challenges.

My latest challenge was from Splitcoaststampers SCS challenge 239

 

I followed the sketch and used my new paper from DCWV Mia Casa.

The stamp is from Robin's Nest and the gems are from Chatterbox.  Both of these items are at

Wholly Scrap!

The rest of my stuff I picked up in my travels.

I used dark brown, deep orange, and light blue card stock and a

 butterfly punch  from Martha Stewart.

 

Here is a close up of the stamped image and my big bow LOL.

 

I used some foam tape on this one.

This is a quick post tonight, tomorrow is my last camp day........ahhhhh

Mojo Monday #96

Hello folks

Here is my card for the Mojo Monday Challenge #96.

If you have not already played....you have to give it a TRY!!

 

If you click on the Mojo Monday Blinkie on my sidebar it will take you to the challenge.

You get a "sketch" to interpret anyway you wish.

You choose the paper, embellishments, etc...

It is not always easy coming up with new design ideas and the designers at Mojo Monday have come up with some nice ones!!

 

The Sunflower Paper is from Creative Imaginations.  The Green Paper as well as the Round Journaling Circles are from Jillibean.

The ribbon I got at Micheal's.  The various buttons are from my stash.

I think the bow is a bit too big...oh well.......no time for perfection this week!

This is my last week with the campers, whew!!!

I am pooped..zzzzzzzzzz

I have two more berry cards...

Someone stop me.........

 

This card was made with Card Stock, Mint Dot Bo Bunny, Round and Scallop Nestabilities and ribbon. I used an embossing folder on the white card stock background and inked around the edge a bit.

 

On to card number 2...............

 

 

This one was made with Basic Grey Paper and Nestabilities Labels and tags.

For both these cards I used the Berry Stamp Set from

 Kitchen Sink Stamps.

 

 

I have really enjoyed making these.

I hope you enjoyed them as well.

You are the Sweetest

Good Morning Folks

I have a quick post today...I have to get to work!

While I was in CT I met a talented lady, Julie.

Check out her blog here.

She introduced me to Kitchen Sink Stamps.

These stamps are a 3-4 part stamp.  You start with the lightest color ink and continue each part of the stamp by getting darker.

I had to buy the Berry Set of Stamps!

Well I got them yesterday and played all day....

 

The strawberries and leaves are all stamps and ink!!

I started with white card stock and my lightest color red ink.  The strawberries come in 4 parts.  Each stamped image goes on top of the last getting darker as you go and creating the beautiful final berry!!

It took me no time at all...I did three cards in about 2 hours including the design.

I could not stop I was hooked.

I did add a blue wash to the background, but...how realistic!!!

There are other berries in the stamp set, I will show those cards tomorrow.

The card is 5x7 and I used Jillibean Paper and Card Stock.

 

The sentiment also came on the set of stamps, love the font!!

The Tag and Octagon shapes were cut out with my Nestabilities.

This is one type of card I dislike making.

Sympathy.

I force myself to do them once in a while so that I have them on hand.

I decided to challenge myself by making an all white card.

One of my fellow bloggers made a cute Mouse in the House card all white, super cute!

Here you go an all white sympathy....

 

One of the problems I faced was not having it look too weddingish!!

So I kept the embellishments down to just a few (that's hard for me).

When using a monochromatic color scheme you have to use texture!!

Out came all my embossing plates, both Cuttlebug and Quickutz.

The card is 5x7 and my first layer was embossed with Swiss Dot.

The next layer was embossed with Fleur de lis, the lattice edges were punched out with a Martha Stewart Punch.

 

The swirls and wave edge is a Nestabilities Border.  It cuts the wave edge and the you use a piercing tool to poke through all the little holes, with the template, giving you the swirl.

 

The sentiment is a stamp from Impression Obsession.  I LOVE this saying!!!

I stamped it on white card stock and cut it out with my Label Nestabilities.

 

I added a big white bow and some pearls.

Lots of layering on this card.

FYI...I have been using chipboard for some of my layering, in this case you can see the brown chipboard with all the white. I am going to use my White Gel Pen to try and mask the brown edges, but in the future I will use foam tape for white projects, such as this one!!

It is killing me not to go crazy with the stickles and gems!!!

Friends are Priceless

Oh how true!!

I made this for a good friend of mine back in Boston.

Since I moved almost 5 years ago we do not get to see much of each other :-(

 

I used a stamp set from My Favorite Things. I stamped it with Brown Memento Ink on Smooth Prism Card Stock (made especially for Copics) and colored it in with my Copic Markers. The background was colored with my blue watercolor pencil and waterbrush.

 

I started with a 5x7 card base and used Deep Aqua and Yellow Card Stock.  My Patterned Paper is from Anna Griffin.

The awesome yellow trim and blue ribbon are from the new Chatter Box line that just came in!!

  

The brad and button are also from that line...just beautiful!!

For those of you who know me...right up my alley.

 

You can see how it all got layered.  My corner punch is super old, any punch will do.  I always forget to pull mine out.

The flowers are from Prism.

MoJo Monday Challenge #95

I love a good challenge!!

MoJo Monday has some great challenges to really get your creative juices flowing!!

If you are not sure what I am talking about check out my sidebar and click on the MoJo Monday Blinkie!!

Here is my card..

 

I used Bazzil card stock and Patterned Paper from Basic Grey.

The lace ribbon, round glitter tag, brads, and small yellow flowers are from the Chatter Box Collection.

The Butterflies are a new Clear Stamp Set from Impression Obsession.

The sentiment is also a new stamp from Robin's Nest.

I stamped it on one of my Nestabilities Tags.  Before I lifted the tag from the die I inked the open areas to get the details on the embossed parts.

 

The butterflies were stamped, colored a bit, and cut out.  Of course stickles were added for bling.

 

My husband always complains that I do not do anything inside my cards..

Sweet

I recently came across a company that sells beautiful images of children stamps.

These are not the cheezy goofy kind, they capture the real splendor of a beautiful child.

This one reminded me of my daughter, Elizabeth...I had to get it!!!

 

I stamped the image with Black Memento Ink on Prism Smooth Card Stock(made for Copics)and colored it in with my Copic Markers.

Her flowers got the Flower Soft treatment and I used my Nestabilities to cut her out and the Card Stock Scallop behind her.

The card is 5x7 matted with a deep aqua card stock and some left over Paper Company Yellow/Gold Dot Paper from my butterfly page.

She is sitting on a Fabric Tag from Chatter Box.  This stuff is NEW.  This collection is absolutely gorgeous!!

I used the velvet ribbon and the yellow brad also in the collection.

The gold beads and sentiment at the bottom are from my stash of stuff.

However you must check out this new Chatter Box Collection!!!

I also used my Alvin White Gel Pen to highlight her jean stitches.

 

After I colored her in this card came together pretty quick!!

More Butterflies

Yes I am into butterflies!!

They are so elegant and graceful, combine that with my

 need to catch up on my scrapbooking......

 

A friend of mine Kim has been using a lot of Kraft Paper lately. It got me thinking....

which is a dangerous thing LOL!!

Of course I had to bling it up!!

 

My butterflies are made by first inking plain white paper with Ranger Distressed inks and water for a soft watercolor look.

An awesome woman named Jennifer McGuire (whom I met in Framingham this past year at the Sue Gilman Show) has made a bunch of UTube videos demonstrating how to use many of the Ranger Projects. Be sure to check it out, she is a great teacher and a very talented person!!

I then cut them out with my Quickutz Butterfly Die using brown for the top swirl layer.

Before I put the two pieces together I added clear acetate to the brown swirl layer.

I also stamped an Impression Obsession Summer Stamp on top of the acetate with Black Staz-On.

 

The paper is from the Paper Co. (yellow), Jillibean (kraft) as well as the journaling tags.

I also used some of the papers from the KOTMC.

I finished it off with some gems, flowers and stickles.

Fabulous Butterfly Book

Hello Folks!

I have to share this with you!

This is a butterfly book that comes all done for you.

 

It is a nice chipboard sturdy book with acetate pages.  Some of these pages are clear, some are shaped like butterflies and some have rub-ons already put on for you!!

The rings are secured by metal eyelets, no torn edges!!

What a great gift!!!

All you have to do is add pictures or sentiments.

 

This is it all stretched out.  The back sides are also just as pretty.

Some of the pages are cut out butterflies.

 

I love the acetate pages.  They look like they are floating.  Some of the pages already have frames, just waiting for a photo.

   

It was really hard trying to get the whole book in one shot.  I wanted you to see the beauty of all the different papers, and images interacting together.

I can not wait to fill this one up!!

It is from Chatter Box and is brand new.

There are a lot of other papers, stickers, buttons, ribbons and embellishments that came with this book, that you can purchase separately.  You have to see it in person...BEAUTIFUL!!
