Here I come CT!!!

I am off to Stamp in Farmington CT.

I am so excited to meet my fellow teachers and stamp addicts (like myself) *hee *hee

Before I go I want to share a card I made at the last minute.

I forced myself to stay up last night because I HAD to try the new Spellbinders Nestabilites that came in the store yesterday.

WooooHoooo!

100_1000

The white lace cut outs are the new die.

I started with a white card and layered it with silver metallic card stock.

I applied it to chipboard and added the ribbon on the bottom. The ribbon comes with the saying on it already!!

From there I added a hand-made white/silver sparkle paper from my stash of stuff.

Next was the black card stock that I Embossed with my Cuttlebug and inked with white ink.

Then came the fun part, embellishing the die cuts.

100_1001

This cut out is a square that I cut twice and twisted and layered on top of each other.  I cut them out of white card stock and added gems/stickles/pearls.

100_1002

The butterfly in the center is from HOTP Dazzlers.  I peeled the butterfly and put him on acetate and then cut him out.

The pearl flowers are left over from my bridal design days.  Every now and then I pull some of the left overs out.

100_1003

I used some foam tape on this card!!!

Flower Power

Good Afternoon!

I was recently inspired to make this card by a set of stickers!

Yes, a set of "nice" stickers.

Normally stickers do not do anything for me, however, these really caught my interest.

I chose not to get the patterned paper that went with them and wanted to just use card stock. I like a challenge.

I tried to keep this card simple.

It was recently brought to my attention that you, out there in blog land, want to see a more simplified card.

Well here you go..... I tried....

100_0993

My cards always look like they are drunk and about to tip over LOL!

I used 3 colors of card stock to match the stickers from Creative Imaginations.

I also used Brown Glitter Paper from Best Creations.

100_0996

My medallions were made using Nestabilities.  The Octagon and the Scallop Octagon.  Inside each of the centers are the stickers.

You can see that I also used the left over center pink pieces.

The rub-ons are from Creative Imaginations.  I am not kidding when I say these are the best rub-ons I have ever used!!!!!!

They go on smoooothhh!

100_0995

My ribbon came from my stash of stuff.  The pink lattice is a punch by Martha Stewart.  I also added a strip of Cuttlebug Embossed Swiss Dot under it.  All the inking is done with Ranger Distress Scattered Straw.

There was very little foam tape used, only around the pink octagons.

Butterfly Hello

Good Evening Folks

I have been busy getting ready for my trip to CT.

Stamp Around CT here we come!!!

Can not wait, it is going to be sooo much fun!!!

Anyway I did have some time to make this......

100_0989

I hate when the card looks like it is falling over :-(

I used the new paper line from Basic Grey, gorgeous colors!!!

I made my base card 5x7 cut from light aqua card stock.

I added Bo Bunny Dot Paper and Basic Grey Patterned Paper.

The Basic Grey Paper was backed with chipboard and the edges were rounded with a Cropper Chomper. This tool is great It cuts right through heavy chipboard!!

100_0990

The butterfly is an Outline Stamp.  I stamped it on Light Aqua Card Stock twice and heat embossed both with clear powder.  The gems come already packaged ready to glue on the circles of the stamped butterfly. They are genuine Swarovski Crystals!!! What a sparkle!! Right up my alley LOL

I layered the two butterflies.  The bottom one I left as is.

The two circle cuts in pink and dark pink were left over from other projects.  I keep left overs on my desk, they come in handy!!

I bought a whole roll of white ribbon, so I will be using it often.

I added a peel off sentiment "hello" from HOTP Dazzles.

100_0992

The top half of the card is a mix of different elements.  The red portion was done by embossing a script stamp.  I started with a piece of light aqua paper and heat clear embossed the script stamp.  I added Burgundy Ink over it.  I took a piece of paper towel and rubbed off the ink on the embossed areas.  It wipes right off leaving the script and burgundy ink behind.

I used my scallop punch and punched it out.  I added it to a piece of the Lace Cut Out Paper that comes with the Basic Grey Line.

Here is the side view........

Shine!

Rise and Shine!

My mother said that to me every morning before school.

I still hate mornings!!!

Anyway here is a card for you...

100_0988

The Patterned Paper and Rub-ons are from Moxie.

I layered the Green Dot Paper and the Flower Paper onto my 5x7 white card.

I really wanted to showcase the lady bugs.  I used my Nestabilities and cut the largest circle out of green card stock.  From there I used the smallest circle and cut out two circle areas for the lady bugs to peek through.

100_0986

These lady bugs are rub-ons (I rubbed them on yellow card stock).

I used my Cuttlebug Embossing Folder to create the swirls.  I used foam tape to pop it up.  I then cut out of the deep orange card stock a flower circle also from Nestabilities and layered a blue circle on top as well as another deep orange smaller circle around the top lady bug.

The big flower is also a rub-on.  I put it on yellow card stock and cut it out.

100_0985

The bow is decorated with more rub-ons.  You can apply these to ribbon as well!

The word rub-ons are from Daisy Bucket. They come in the small squares.

Lime Green, Yellow Stickles, a few small flowers and Dew Drops finish this card off.

100_0987

Here is a side shot to see how it all got layered.

I will be at

Wholly Scrap!

all day today!!!

Stop by and check out some of the new stuff that has come in!!

I LOVE new stuff.

Happy Fourth!!!

This paper from Best Creations was just aching for a card to be made!!

100_0964

I also used the Nesting Stars from Quickutz

The Stars are on sale right now Yah!

I cut stars out of the double sided paper and from the Red Glitter Paper.  Since they are nesting stars I had fun mixing and matching.

This paper line also came with balloons on it.  I cut them out and added them in.

The white card stock I cut the star from was left over and the negative space was just calling to me, so I used it.

100_0965

I placed paper under it positioning the 4th where I wanted it.

I used chipboard to layer the white card and foam tape to pop up some of the other items.

I love white bows!! Yes Eve I do!

100_0966

I cut thin strips of the red glitter paper and used them as balloon strings.  They curled on their own, nice!! I used Zip Dry to tack the strings down.

100_0967

From the sides you can see the layers.

Have a Happy and Safe 4th!!

Wholly Scrap!

will re-open on Monday the 6th

Hope to See you then

A Red, White and Blue Thank You

Good Evening Folks.

I have a fun Thank You card to share...

100_0963

We got some new "peel offs" in from Hot of the Press (HOTP).  This one (the gold swirls) is a medallion created by layering.  The first layer is the large gold circle with swirls on the edge.  The second sits on top of that one and is edged with the red glitter paper.  The third is the small circle in the center with the gem.  All three layers come on one sheet of "peel offs", you peel them and stick them on paper, cut them out and then layer.  I cut them out with my various circle cutters (Nestabilities, Quickutz, and Marvy Punches) and added the red glitter circles for accent.

I know this sounds confusing, but if you come in the store someone would be glad to show you. It is very easy!!!! I promise ;-)

This is a great inexpensive way to create an interesting card.

The patterned paper is new from My Minds Eye.  The paper comes from the company already packaged with some fun embellishments in the package that coordinate with the paper.  However each package is one of a kind, because they have different patterned papers in them.  Kinda fun!!

Back to the card....

100_0962

I added a little twist, this medallion sits on the inside of the card and shows through a punched hole to the front.

100_0960

Guess who smudged their stickles before they dried.... hee hee

This card will be at

Wholly Scrap!

if you want to take a closer look.

The store will be closed the 4th and 5th.

I will reopen on the Monday the 6th!!

Have a great Holiday!!!

Happy Birthday America

and thank you to all those who serve and have served to protect our freedom!!!!

I am at the store WHOLLY SCRAP! all day today.

Stop by and say HI!

I will be posting a new card tonight, be sure to check back.

Is that the SUN???

Have a scappy-do-day!!!!

July 02, 2009

Good Morning!!

I saw a sign yesterday

"who ever is doing the rain dance please stop"

ya, that means you!!!  LOL

I am off to Boston, but before I go here is a quick card to share...

100_0954

I used Basic Grey Paper and a cute pre-cut card from PaperCuts.

My Marvy Punches cut out the scallop circles.

100_0956

The butterfly is from Outlines. I inked the stamp with Cloudy Blue Ranger ink stamped it on white paper and cut it out. I did glitter the butterfly up with stickles, hee hee.

I added Quickutz Flourishes on the top wings.

The butterfly is sitting on a circle area that I stamped with an Impression Obsession Butterfly word stamp.

The brown card stock scallop punch finishes off the top part.

The bottom sentiment circle uses the same stamp, flourishes and paper.

The color palette for this card was pale and soft blues, creams and greens (very hard to photograph!).

This one was quick and easy... peasy!!

This is great weather to catch up on some scrappin!!!!

For Someone Special

I made this card for a special friend so I thought I would share it before I sent it off...

100_0953

I used the new Basic Grey Lemonade Paper Line.

My Nestabilities came in very handy I used it on the green square, and the thank you pieces.  The pieces are the center part of the square cut out and cut in half.

The floral circles are more Basic Grey Paper and I used my Quickutz Circle/Flower 4x4 die for those.

100_0951

The center layer was made up using acetate with Basic Grey Rub-ons (include the gems)!!!

The flower is from Creative Imaginations, it is a brad.

I placed it on top of an acetate scallop from ScrapWorks.

100_0952

I used lots of foam tape on this one LOL
